THE VISION OF OPENING CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IN UGANDA.

The vision. To create a ppositive influence on our world by developing students in partnership with families, whose actions authentically reveal the character of Christ in a holistic manner (Lk.2:52)

The political and educational situation in Uganda.

Although Uganda is politically stable right now, the quality of education, particularly Christian is very poor. The country is divided into 7 regions. I come from the eastern region in a community of the Iteso tribe. Education in my country is mainly provided by government in Elementary, Middle, High schools and university.

However, the quality is poor, because government has failed to equip schools with enough text books, teachers and classroom buildings. There is also poor governance in social service delivery, mostly caused by corrupt leadership. As a result, many private schools opened by individuals or companies exist in the country; But there are few Christian schools. In fact there are more elementary schools belonging to Muslims as compared to Christians.

 The need for Christian school:

A Christian school is the only place where children are instructed to believe and live according to God’s word. It must have a Christian foundation of God’s true word as authority of our faith and life. A Christian school can achieve this, by employing Christian teachers, giving Christian instructions to children, provide Christian moral environment and a Christian goal. This is the kind of school I envision to operate in my country starting in February 2016.

My Christian school will also be concerned with teaching the truth. All the instructions it will give, will be in all areas of learning based upon the word of God, ruled by God’s word, and should be in harmony with God’s word in every subject like mathematics, English, science, etc. this means that the school curriculum will incorporate biblical truth in every subject.

School Mission: To share in the ministry of teaching and offering biblical Christian education for all children in collaboration with parents. It is our goal to help determine the best educational placement of talents and abilities for each child.

Objectives:

1.       To impart children with true Christian biblical values.

2.       To help children tap unique potentials of influencing and transforming culture positively.

3.       Seeing to teach the relevance of the truth with centrality of creator God.

Proposed names for the school.

1.       Teso Christian school:  “ Engaging the culture in Christian schooling”

2.       Cornerstone Christian school: “ Building character for Servant hood Leadership”

3.       Faith Christian school: “ Challenging minds and building Christian character”

1.       God’s guidance to find faithful and hardworking workers.

2.       Good health and God’s gracious will in this vision

4.       Internal and external partners to pursue the vision.
